A forum is a strange social tool. In 'real life', you can be sad or just down, then hang out with some friends, and be sort of comforted by them just being there. You can see the look on their faces, they can give you a hug or a pat on the back - and never say a word. In a forum, you don't even know...

For a long while, I chose to have faith in my spouse - even though the evidence spoke of problems. After all, that's what faith is, isn't it? It's believing in someone, in the essential character of their nature, even if it doesn't seem to be backed up by facts. That's how good friends relate to eac...

It depends how I choose to interpret 'talk to myself'. If I'm driving somewhere, I'm almost always talking to the deranged drivers who seem to be on the road the same time I am. Of course, they can't hear me, but it still makes me feel better to 'vent' to them. On the other hand, I often seem to be ...

Alone is a strange concept. If I am talking on the phone, I can be physically 'alone' but not socially alone. What bothers me is when I am a 'ghost'. You know, you walk into a room, say 'Hi!' or ask a question, and no one responds. They don't look at you or talk to you. It's like they can't even see...

I despise St Valentines day with a passion. It wouldn't bother me that I've never had a card, but when I was at school there was a "postal service" run by one of the classes that would deliver cards to other students for a nominal fee which was given to charity. Everyone went wild about it and sent...

I'm going to be feeling a little down, but for different reasons. I have been married to a beautiful woman for over twenty years. She recently told me she doesn't love me and never has. She said I'm a nice guy and all, but she knew she made a mistake when she married me. She feels trapped in our mar...

I am on the flip side of this topic. I've been in married for over 20 years and my wife thinks I might have AS. She can't seem to be able to cope with me. I says I'm a real nice guy, but... We have several children, one of which may have AS. When she found out about AS several years ago, and told me...
