Who said anything about God? You did. To have a theory of everything requires, aside from other things, a dynamic oracle machine which God knows is even possible. Focus, please. God is and can be used figuratively in colloquial English. It's actually quite common. Nothing I've stated here was even ...

It's not a stupid question. Basically, it is by convention and is chosen that way to make things fairly natural. I thought of a recursive strategy all wizards subsequent to Wizard 5 in my example can use to discern their hat values but when two permutations conflict with respect to sum it get's des...

Though I never learned the fundamentals of math, I understood Godel's incompleteness pretty well. All mathematics is based on scales of reference or axioms tied to other axioms. How would we even understand values without frames or scales referring to quantity? If no frames of reference existed then...

Go back to this example: First, assume that the hats are numbered 0-1000 and that all additions are mod 1001. Suppose that hat 999 is not being worn and that the first three wizards to guess have numbers 12, 10, and 0 in that order. The first wizard sees that 999 and 12 are missing. So he adds them...

I don't think you can guarantee anything better than 500. That is what I'm chasing and I'm hoping for a eureka! moment. It really doesn't look provable though after mulling it over. I knew upon encountering the riddle that a strategy considerate of odd/even would solve for 500 but it didn't interes...

I felt and still feel that there needs to be some new dimension to the communication or guesses in this problem but I'm running through other algorithms but I feel like 998 is unsolvable without the second wizard being able to remain silent. Being able to stay silent doesn't help. The more hat numb...

I watched my father die maybe 3 weeks ago.
I don't know how to handle it and I'm unable to think much about it. I miss him a lot though. He was a friendly old hippy who just wanted to watch his shows.
Sorry for your loss. |

This is cracked out. And senseless. Yeah, because trying to unify all manner of dynamic physical phenomena in a single, unifying conjecture is sensible and completely doable. Maybe I should just say that complexity is hard to define. No duh, Sherlock. You seem smart. No need to be mean. Can you exp...
