Personally I prefer that we make decisions together as a couple. I certainly don’t mind women who initiate the first contact, it shows strength, determination, and interests on their part which I really admire. What I do like is a phone call now and then just to talk about life in general. I also li...

I think you really need a few dates before you can really know if it is going to go somewhere with the other person or not. The problem is a lot of the women I’ve met have said that if they don’t feel anything after the first date it’s not worth pursuing. The other problem, at least for me, is that ...

MjrMajorMajor, I’m glad you agree with me in at least part of my assessment of our society. Maybe you’d like to elaborate. I have tried Plenty of Fish with no success, probably because there are just too many people there. Okcupid has been fairly good. I think people who are more serious minded abou...

When I say we are an impatient and spoiled society I am not simply referring to those of us with AS, but all our society as a whole. We are all victims of this.

I think those of us with Asperger’s are attracted to the online dating scene because there is a lot less stress and anxiety when it comes to messaging someone online. Not to mention the fact that you don’t have to read people’s facial expressions or tone of voice. The problem is the internet mentali...

I have used okcupid. So far no scams thank God. But I find that many women there treat dating like shopping, no commitment, no sense of let’s try to make this work together. If it does not fit, put it right back on the shelf. They just go right back online, perhaps a paid site would attracts more se...

Hi there, Well, have you tried online dating sites? I’ve done this with varying degrees of success. Do you have any siblings who go to different social events, you might try joining them. Sometimes non-traditional places are a good way too, for example lectures and presentations given at schools, mu...

Hi all, I’m really curious as to what experiences other aspies have had with the online dating scene. I have been using a free site off and on and have had many dates but nothing serious, no relationships. I did manage 5 dates with one girl and 3 with another but then I always managed to go wrong so...

Well I can tell you that I also did my BA and MA degrees in history. I struggled as well in terms of finding work. If you love politics then the internship with that elected official should help. You might want to pursue that avenue. I work an office job on the side to pay the bills it actually star...

Over analyzing has been the hardest obstacle for me to overcome. It is certainly a part of Asperger’s, but I think if you follow your intuition or gut feeling you usually will make the right decisions.

I do think private colleges are a waist of your money. I went to state schools and feel that I received an excellent education, no better or worse than what any private college could offer.

You might want to speak with a career counselor who can help guide you first. Assess the skills you have, your interests, your resume, and then see what the best type of work or graduate program might be. I would suggest researching some of the state colleges in your area and see what they have to o...

First of all college is not a waist, though I think private colleges are because they are over-priced. It is always a benefit to have the education. And I don't think that being an Aspie keeps you out of the psychology field, in some ways it might even be a benefit. We look at things from different ...

Hello to all, I have just registered today. I was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome this year. I’m interested in talking to people like me, share experiences, and hopefully make some friends along the way. I’m especially interested in how other aspies cope with relationships and work. I’ve finished...
