Ok, I am a cautionary tale. I sucked my thumb until I was 8. That's when the dentist put the little thingy in my mouth, probably like the one they want for your son. (ok so there are two kinds, one with spikes and one with out. DO NOT let them give your son spikes.) I have had braces since then, and...

Land's End is pretty good. I've been wearing pretty much exclusively them for years. They are a bit more expensive, but they have some good sales if you buy at the right time. I can even wear jeans from LE on a good (sensory) day. I also wore almost nothing but gap kid's stretch pants for years, so ...

I can't say that I know how you feel, but I know that killing yourself is not a good solution. My mother, too, screams at me for the symptoms of my "imaginary mental disease", but I know that your struggles are real. I have questioned myself, wondering whether or not I was faking asperger's, but I k...

If one of your teachers makes a sarcastic comment about subject matter and you take notes on it. If you never catch on to the sarcasm and write it on a test. If said teacher then makes up a sarcasm signal to let you know she is joking. If she tells the entire class the signal is for you and you are ...

I have a planner book. I write down EVERYTHING. I have a really great memory, but I am always forgetting things like spanish homework and trig assignments. If there is a specific thing I need for that day, I also leave a notebook on top of my clothes that I lay out for the next day, so I see it and ...

Yes, they are. Mine is easily big enough for the 8 1/2 X 11 in. standard printer paper, too. I use one of the sections for each class and one left over for my stuff, like a flyer for a club or a drawing my friend gae me or something.

Two suggestions: either use an expanding file folder like this: LINKIE I got my one of those at staples in grade 8 and I am still using it (grade 10). Some of them are really sturdy and I never worry about tearing my pages or pinching my fingers in the binder rings. Or you could always put folders i...

No way!

I might suggest "staring contest" card to help improve eye contact.

Hello! I almost skipped a few grades to enter a cc! I even took the entrance exams (on which I scored quite well). Sadly, I was too young and neither GCC nor PCC would take me. :( I think it would be helpful for any instructors to know that this stuff is not "Mind over matter" and we can't simply "S...

When I was in public school (which was up until about three weeks ago, from grades 1-10), I was in the "Gifted" programme. It was nothing more than just honours classes. I test high enough to be considered gifted on formal IQ tests. I thought it was all so stupid, to have the gifted programme. My sc...

I hate it when people say things like "Don't worry, that's totally normal!" or "All hormonal teens feel sad sometimes" or "Everyone feels like that, you are not alone!" It is so annoying. I know there are other depressed people, other anxious people, and even some who have it way worse, but that doe...
