I had seen those same people in that video online from autism speaks so it wasn't anything new. It really was more the parents as victims and only showed extreme cases of autism. What about the rest of the kids on the spectrum? To me they only showed 1 form of autism when they really needed to show ...

My son has no issues in school. He was academically behind but has caught up. The school actually hired Emory University Autism Department to come in and do a study on him. No my son does not have an aide. He is in an inclusion classroom so the special ed teacher or special ed aide is there for more then half the day. Plus he also has a teaching student so with the small class size and all the teachers around he gets the attention he needs, thankfully.

I am over the whole "newness" of the diagnosis. Now my focus is just helping him to be the person that he can be. To ensure he gets the services that he needs in school and life. To be his number 1 supporter and advocate.
