I know this diet very well - it's not popular advice but you need to count calories. Low carb can be very effective for many people but some of us still have to count calories to make it all work. Paleo has worked very well for my family. Why don't you post your meals for the day? Maybe we can help?

I don't have a solution for you - my son is 10 and I just signed up here. I read your post and got a glimpse of what could be his future too. Our boys sound exactly the same - only difference being age. I wish you the best with this. You sound like wonderful parents. I know I struggled a lot in life...
