It's completely natural, so don't have to worry about nasty side effects. Be careful with that thinking...just because something is "natural" doesn't mean it's "healthy," it doesn't mean it's "safe," and it doesn't mean it won't have side effects. Think belladonna. Completely natural. Nasty side ef...

I started using Peace & Calming (Young Living) on my son (3 years old) on the bottoms of his feet at night to help him sleep. At first, I didn't see any difference and his Pediatrician prescribed him Seroquel. I did not pick up the prescription and decided to give it to him. I have noticed he is...

Wow, your pediatrician is prescribing Seroquel for a 3-year-old? Holy cow. I mean, I get the no sleep thing and everything, having been through it for years myself with my son, but that is a heavy duty medication. I would definitely go to a child psychiatrist for a second opinion before starting it...

We have been thinking about getting another dr's opinion. We really like our son's pediatrician. I was actually going to try it but my son's dad is more against the idea than I am. The essential oils actually have the opposite effect on my son. Seemed to give him more energy than help him sleep..

Baby clothes used to drive me nuts. For example the size "18 months". Should the baby start wearing this size at 18 months, or stop? Surely it's not only for children exactly 18 months old. :? Also, I've seen clothing that comes in size 24 months and also size 2T. Seems redundant. I would think sta...

I found out about Young Living Essential Oils a while back and trying this first. It's called Peace & Calming and it is suppose to be for autism or so I've read. Trying it out for the first time tonight. I used it on myself last night and could feel something working in my feet (that's where I a...

At young age? My son is 3. I have nothing against medication, but not sure about starting him so young.. I've also thought about alternative medication like essential oils. Not sure if they would help much but just looking at our options. :) *Edit to add: I was also on Seroquel when I went through a...

So at our 3 year appointment today, our son's doctor prescribed my son 25 mg of Seroquel to help him sleep and help with his more aggressive and violent behavior. Has anyone's children taken this medication? If so, what are some benefits or side effects of the medication? Doing some research online ...

My son isn't in daycare any more. My boyfriend is going to watch him until we figure out a better option. My son will be in Preschool and getting ABA pretty soon.

My younger brother (17 years old) talks to video games all the time. I know he has been diagnosed with sensory issues (not autism although he might have HFA). He yells at his video games quite a bit. It's almost like he's an announcer. I have seen him in younger years doing the same while playing ba...

Postcards57: Sorry if I was confusing. My son does go to therapy but it is not a part of daycare. He also gets Respite Care (in-home support) and talk to them to see if that is an option. I don't think they are normally for work- mostly a break for the parents. I think I get 20 hours for September, ...

Just to clarify, do you have a job right now? And are you looking for a solution for right now and long term, or do you have a daycare set up in September? Also, what are the options for a child who has been dx (if he has been dx) in your area? Are there special needs or integrated daycares which p...

If you want a dog for YOU, (which, forgive me, but that's what I'm reading between the lines here) that's a different thing. Your needs are still legitimate. You may still try to do fostering, and frame it as "dog-sitting" to your daughter so she doesn't get attached any more than she would if you ...

Oh, and I asked the daycare provider what happened with the other kid. I guess he was trying to get his shoes and she didn't let him. I'm guessing he wanted to go outside or leave. Then, he got frustrated and hit another kid. Sounds like it was a rough day. Once I pulled up to her driveway, he start...
