ISP poll, which is your ISP?

anybody got any gripes about their ISP? here is the place to gripe about such. centurylint sucks big wind service outages are a regular occurrence and they charge more for less internet speed than many competitors I've found. I have to pay 46 buck$ a month for [often] less than 1 meg DL speed. but i'm stuck with 'em as I live in a monopoly area, they are the only ones here. anybody else in a similar situation with their unsatisfactory ISP?

Comcast but I am in a city where Google is setting up fiber optics and I am switching over as soon as Google sets everything up.

Its actually suppose to be $60 but Comcast is the worse company in the world and I don't recommend them and I hate them with a passion. They always raise my bill and they are impossible to get a hold of, I have to call them up and threaten to cancel every six months to keep my bill under $100. Google is 10x faster and they have already offered me $60 a month and I have agreed, just waiting for installation in my building.

I am good up to around $80, anymore and I'll switch and honestly your best bet with ISPs is to switch regularly anyway. Comcast will usually offer you a deal at first so take it and then go to AT&T or whoever for whatever deal they have and then back to Comcast. This is the best method I have found for fighting the cable company, always go where the deal is and as soon as they start that price gouging don't just threaten to leave, actually leave. You do that enough times and they will start to value you as a customer or at least pretend to care because they know your cancel their services for real if they don't treat you fairly.

I don't mess around with cable companies, charge me fairly or I am gone is what I say.

^^^ wow you pay twice what I pay but get 90+ times the throughput. I don't think I could even afford $46 per month for much longer, much less $80.

$191 for tv, phone and internet. Our internet package is 60Mbps down and 11.5 up with 320GB data cap.

wow. no way could I afford that. it is looking like I will have to drop my internet and use the library.

The nick name for Rogers is "Robbers". When I mentioned phone, I was talking about a house phone too, not our cellphones. Those are on top of that price, but thankfully not with Rogers.

cox, eh? I woulda added them to the poll choices but wiki said they were superceded by some other company. I guess somebody'll have to correct that wiki page. am beginning to see that centurylint is not quite as bad as some other companies. they all are highway robbery AFAIC, to a variable extent. and why do we americans let them get away with it and not demand en masse, something better?

These cable companies are all merging it is very confusing, I think Charter was trying to merge with Cox but now are trying to buy out Time Warner. Crazy monopolies like this are allowed to exist in this country.
