After some searching, all I can say is to Google "pen input" and see what you get.
My take is that the laptop accepts a USB tablet with stylus so you can hand write and let the software transcribe your handwriting into text.
This feature really never caught on. If you think OCR tech is still lacking, handwriting recognition is even worse.
In law school, I knew a woman who bought a digital pen that would remember what she wrote and turn it into text on her PC. It required a good bit of use on a pre-prepared script to "teach" the software to recognize your handwriting...much as Dragon Dictation needs you to read a script to better recognize your speech.
