Anyone here ever heard of ReactOS?

It's actually not working that well. The OS is full of bugs. I plan on submitting a bug report as soon as I can find the proper place to do so. I figure if I can't help the ReactOS team financially, I can at least help them in this way.

Also, the drivers work well because they are written by the ReactOS programmers. They're not generic drivers.

That doesn't surprise me. The last time I used ReactOS it was barely even functional. It was in a VM though, as I've been too chicken to try installing it on real hardware.

When I said the drivers were generic, I meant that they were just standard VGA/VESA driver made to work with any graphics card.

Yeah, after 20 years it's still "very early" in development. By the time this thing gets out of both alpha and beta stages, Microsoft and Windows will probably be long obsolete.

I've installed this on my PC, but it has a complete lack of driver support and makes Windows ME look like the most stable operating system in the world. I posted a ton of bug reports, but it doesn't look like any of them were worked on.

On the other hand, compatibility with Windows software is pretty decent, but you can already do that by running WINE on Linux, Mac OS X, or FreeBSD.
