Chrome makes every tab a separate process. It's not a problem if you only have one or two tabs open, but if you use a lot of tabs Chrome is unusably slow. Despite it's reputation for being bloated, FF always wins the benchmarks for memory use with multiple tabs.

A lot of the time, when I run Chrome, the first tab's process crashes before it finishes loading. Weird.

Because the Windows version and the version for OS X and Linux are different software, maybe? :roll:

They are compiled from the same code, there maybe some very minor OS specific patching.

Well there's gotta be some "minor OS specific patching" that screwed it up, clearly. But saying that issues with a browser equal issues with a whole OS is plain stupid.

Because Chrome clearly does not have this particular bug on it's version for those systems. No matter what the reason is, the performance of a buggy third party browser can't be put down to the OS your computer runs.

You are grasping at straws lxuser. Asp-Z is right. It would only take one minor little difference to account for his performance problem. You cant lay it on the underlaying system.

My experiences with OS X make me think its the underlying system, I have a feel for things and believe me they aren't as snappy and fast as people make them out to be. Besides who gives a rats arse about OS X because after all its quite inferior compared to Linux and Windows. Lets see how all the Apple Fan boys like this.

I would definitely put OS X above Windows. It is at least a UNIX system. Windows has no real advantages except for use as a gaming platform. It's a toy. For serious work you need UNIX.
