Setting up Media stuff in Xubuntu

I have just installed Xubuntu 9.04 Jauty Jackolope on on Dell Inspirion 1150. Why Xbuntu, well I like the efficency of XFCE and the fact that it only takes 10 seconds to boot up. However I have a few questions

1. How do I set Amarok to sync my MP3 player as I will in Windows Media Player.
2. How do I set Amarok to automatically start up when I put in a music CD, MP3 Player or transfer files from MP3 Player
3. How do I get Amarok to automatically give the option to rip CD'S.
4. How do I get the Movie Player to automatically play DVD's without having to manually open the file from within the player. {I a;ready have all the GStreamer and crap you have to get to play DVD's. Its just that I wait to play DVD's automatically.
5. How do I automatically connect to my home Wi-Fi network without having to do anything manually.

I trying to set this laptop up to act as a mobile entertainment laptop as well as a work laptop. Sorry for asking all these questions but this is only the 5th system I set linux up on.

In terms of ubuntu, you can navigate to system, preferences, removable drives and media and set things there.

There should be something like that in xubuntu as well.

Alright the error I get when popping in a DVD is "Could not open location; you might not have permission to open the file." I can play the DVD but only after manually opening it in Totem.

Ok, so I will see if I can replicate the problem on a xubuntu based laptop. From there I will investigate a solution and get back to you.

I do have both KDE and XFCE and switch between them as I see fit (Kubuntu with Mythbuntu on top of it), I can't get my sound system to work at all wth XFCE though it works fine with KDE, the ONLY media thing I set up there was MythTV which I use for DVB mainly. but to get the sound working required KDE which is strange as it shouldnt make a difference which you use

Amarok btw is a KDE app and would work best on it, I'm working on configuring that under KDE
