Pidgen Connection Errors

I used to be able to use my Yahoo Messenger account in Pidgen but now I get connection errors. I'm currently using Ubuntu Jauty Jackolope.

Yahoo changed their servers. You'll need the newest version of Pidgin to deal with that, and unfortunately Ubuntu does not update any applications (except Firefox) between releases. You can obtain the latest version for Ubuntu HERE. That should fix the Yahoo Messenger problems.

You can say that after awhile I grew tired of Microsoft. They don't ad hear to standards. They barely update there software and it is a pain in the @$$ fixing systems with spyware and security issues. Also I am beginning to grew tired of sub-par proprietary software and formats. Overall limiting the freedom to use the program of your choice. Set it up the way you like it and then possibly share software with other people who might also find use out of the software.

Linux is everything I love. Security is stellar, the fact that the developers treat their software as information instead if something they can get rich off of. The software can easily be adapted to fit peoples needs from all over the world. Since so many people work on it that also makes the software universally compatible with all computers. Meaning its not a fight to use the software and its features on any computer in the world. Also it is updated frequently so the features and quality of the software is great.

Oh thank god someone posted this. I was getting pi**ed to have to keep the online messenger tab open, and couldn't get the new version to download properly. Yours seems to be working though Orwell.

EDIT: SQUEE! Oh thanks a ton Orwell. Never would have found this on my own, I never seem to get the search terms right in google. Now it works again. Should yell at yahoo.
