I'm planning on upgrading my notebook from a 100GB to a .5TB drive in the next few weeks, and was wondering what is currently good? I used to upgrade with Seagates, but sadly their QA for their high capacity drives has been abysmal for the past year or so.... Possibly due to their merger with Maxtor?

I've never liked Western Digitals, and I know essentially nothing about the quality of Samsung, Hitachi, and Fujitsu. I wouldn't mind getting another Toshiba, but sadly their bare drives are only available through OEM channels, and I really don't want to spend the extra cash to buy a Toshiba USB drive to simply rape for the internals. Any suggestions?
