I'm somewhat technical with computers or anything related to that. I'm trying to link a Youtube video to this website and ran into two problems. I linked the video to here this morning and it said to leave it to process for a few minutes. I was gone for a couple hours and when I got back, it said the same thing. Later, I wrote the URL video link to the video. When I clicked on the link to Youtube, all I got was a note saying, "The link or video contained a malformed ID." Can anyone please help me.

You're gonna need to write everything here because I don't understand what that means.

on the youtube page with the video get the link from the right hand side.

Image

See it there?

Copy that link with control c

Now when you write a reply or start a post in wrong planet, press the youtube button as seen here.

Paste the link that you copied into that. control v will do that using windows or linux.

Hit apply or ok, and your embedded link is finished. Now you can write whatever text you want to accompany the video.

Do I copy the URL or the embedded code?

The url.

Supposedly the embedded code works, but I have never seen it function in a forum.

You can also get the url from the top of your browser, but sometimes they have referral code in it and tend to be longer.

The embedded code will only work if the forum allows you to insert html code directly. Very unlikely these days.
