Good Google Desktop alternative for Ubuntu

Any good program for Ubuntu that has a analog desktop clock, weather forecast widget and other useful widgets. Something that will run good on computers with only 256MB Ram and so on. Used google desktop before but its only for windows and its a memory hog. Taking up hundreds of MB's of memory.

Not sure what to do about the memory hog, but it runs on windows in 512 mb RAM, it on Ubuntu should run it OK on 256mb. Heres the linux version download.

What about conky? You can customize it to show all sorts of things. I thought about doing a liveCD with it installed so I could gather system stats... but I dont fix enough machines to justify.

Try screenlets. It's in the Ubuntu repos, integrates well in the Gnome desktop and has plenty of widgets including the ones you mentioned.

Donno, screenlets are on the way out I think.
