I was in a big debate with someone about this a while back, he was ranting that life only exists on Earth because we've only SEEN it here, and that it can't have formed from "scratch".

Guess this is another point towards the "from scratch" side.

It's nice to see this kind of research finally start to appear. Science is finally starting to illustrate the understanding of just how life began.
It's actually surprising that it would come from the heart of the American Bible Belt.
Even more surprising that the US gov't would be funding it.... :roll: They'd better watch out, though if they figure TOO much out, they'll have their budget cut... And likely the fundy's will storm the place and destroy it.
