I recently added on two xbox 360's with wireless capabilities onto my D-link D-524 routers network. One has built in wireless and the other has the wireless adapter with the antennae...they were both able to automatically connect without any configuration. .

The problem is that now the other home PC which used to connect to the wireless network before via a D-link USB GWL-D122 Wireless adapter no longer connects. It is able to detect my wireless network but cannot establish a connection. It says "Windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be i range. please refresh the list of available networks, and try connect again" The comp is in range (4 bars) and I have refreshed and tried to no avail.

I tried to open my Dlink Airport Plus app and I go this messege "procedure entry point apsSearchInterface could not be located in the dynamic linklibrary wlanapi.dll". Is this the problem? Or has my two xbox 360's wireless connections somehow effed up the home PC's wireless IP or something?

I'm computer literate but im not so good with stuff this in depth, some of you guys probably think this is baby sh*t which is why I'm askin ya'll for help. No better computer tech guys than aspies!

please help, this sucks

Have you tried hard resetting the D-link unit?

Have you restarted your computer? Also, have you downloaded the drivers for your adapter from dlink's website and reinstalled them on your computer?

r u using xp and recently updated to sp3?

If so, M$ describes the problem here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950720
In short, D-link's programs needed an old version of wlanapi.dll. You should check if D-link has an update drivers/utilities. If no, try copy %Windir%\$NtServicePackUninstall$\wlanapi.dll to D-link's program directory.

I did restart my computer a few times and it didnt do anything. I uninstalled and re-installed the drivers from tjhe site and that didnt work either...that router/adapter combo was a few years old anyway so I just went out and bought a cisco router and adapter and they work fine.

Thanks for the help anyway guys!

The Cisco you buy at the store is really Linksys. It doesn't hold a candle to real Cisco found in the datacenter/wiring closet. I will say the WRT54GL is rock solid when flashed to DD-WRT firmware.

I got a Apple Time Capsule, it's a really nice router but I wished it gave you more control.
