I would like to know if they way I treat my PC's is smart or am I fooling myself?

Always shut down Desktop PC's, leave Laptops on Stand By.
Close any tasks I am not using when computer gets to desktop.
Run anti-virus.
Create restore point.
I always have the computer on a flat surface like wood.
Keep all software up-to-date.
Give computer plenty of room to breath.

Software I install on all of my computers. Good or Bad?

Does anyone know of any other free programs that might be faster than the ones I'm using. Or are some of these programs bad for my computer. (I'm a Techie so I'll comprehend whatever you say)

Wow. It's nice to see that someone actually bothers to keep their computer in good condition. I always tell people to back up their files, install antivirus software, give room for airflow, etc. but nobody ever listens. How many times am I going to have to say it: if people would listen to my advice we would all be better off. But no; I'm going to set my computer on fire and throw it out the window and then wonder why it doesn't work the next day. That SammichEater guy has no idea what he's talking about. Fire is good for computers.

Haha! That's exactly how it is! Fetching every bit of advice I give to people just gets stomped on, and then they come around and say what, how did that happen?Then I say did I not just predict that dumbass!?
