What is a "IT backend infrastructure Manager" doing? The discription is more: Manager of the "Managed Desktop Backend Infrastruktur"

... involving all ADS, Server&Client, Networkprinter, VOIP, Exchange Server, RDS and Backup&Security structure of departments and bases of the company. Normaly a diploma economist with a IT knowledge background would do the job. I came as near as having a economist father to being a economist or a studied managment expert. But the big company is interessted having me in the team of these managers.

The job a big company is offering me though a job agency, is about a IT backend infrastructure management. But what does that mean?

Building, assembling IT teams to get a new base build up from scratch, calculate the costs, the workpower and the timeframe for the IT Teams. Keeping the teams running like a good oiled transmission, keeping them motivated. Keeping the projects in order, put out orders to the departments what the needs are and working together with the financial controllers.

That's what I think it is. But maybe you know more and better? I need to prepair myself for the upcoming interview for that job!

Sorry, I can not help with your question. However, your English is very good and MUCH better than my German! I am working at learning German via Deutsche Welle on-line classes.

My friend was just offered the same thing at his job - a cross promotion. I'll ask him if he can explain it. It takes him a few days to respond sometimes though...

Well, it looks like if you have those skills, perhaps you will be a great manager. The truth is, now a days when a person can deploy a properly configured Active Directory, Exchange and Sharepoint deployment to a complicated network environment, they are going to start becomming more of a manager than a typical operations guy. I'm assuming you're interviewing for a lead of some kind that will report to other business stake holders.

Sounds like a great role. Good luck.
