know what would be cool? An eye-pad. Yeah, I stole that from the Futurama episode.

Anyway, watching Modern Marvels and they're showing something about microchips at the back of the eye to allow people to see better. It wouldn't be a stretch to imagine it could be expanded to include interface devices so you could do your computing, social networking and media watching without any hand-held hardware. So you could just sit there like you're staring off into space and you'd actually be watching a movie or posting something to facebook.

An anti-gravity generator.

The Imaginator - a device which makes whatever you think about pop into existence.

6 pack abs *ziff
Hot babe *poof!
Aston Martin *Zapp!
Super Powers *Pow!

The emdrive.

http://www.emdrive.com/

It's been seriously debunked by most of the established media but apparently works. According to darpa and the Chinese. The British government have given them grants too.

Quick problem with your plan: "ziff," "poof!," and "Zapp!" are only available those who already have superpowers. You would need to get the superpowers first, and then the other 3 things.
*Blammo!*

That website won't do them any favours. It looks like the work of a pre-teen.

Is this the one ESA took a slice of, or am I thinking of a different 'new' propulsion system altogether?

Yeah, its supposed to be a kind of antigravity device. Or more accurately, a thrustless propulsion system. The science behind it seems sound but it is supposed to violate several laws of physics. Just seems strange to me there is so much political and corporate interest in it.

Hmmmmm.......about that emdrive.

Worth finding out about if only to uncover this guy..... He looks deeply creepy.

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xibb5n ... ology_news

The emdrive piece is about 4' in.

The only officially released video (all 59 seconds of it) is this:

First comment is something like - 'my washing machine can also do this'.

This is the new version built from spare superconductive LHC parts lol. Only time will tell if it actually works. Some military has probably been using the technology for years. If it does really work.

What laws of physics does if violate? In space theres little resistance other than a very light gravity force from the sun and planets and there also should be a change in the magnetic forces
How does the emdrive convert electric energy into kinetic energy in space?

The is no "anti-gravity". As Lawrence Krauss likes to say - gravity sucks. It only appears to attract and it cannot be neutralize nor can it be shielded. Gravity is the curvature of the spacetime continuum produced by mass or mass-energy..
