I know I'm being lazy, but Google seems to have little about data compression without using a computer. Does anyone know any convenient methods for compressing information on paper onto other paper (other than the book cipher)? I think all of the data can be represented by alphanumeric characters (essays, compositions), basic special characters (punctuation, operators), and accented characters. The pictures don't matter too much because I would rather redraw the pictures and assign codes to them for reference.
