Cell phone for auditory processing issue
Any geeks in the house? I have some kind of auditory processing issue. I can fake it well enough in most situations and have never been diagnosed with anything, but I know I'm missing something. Old-fashioned phones worked for me. Like the kind one would keep in the house fifty years ago. It cupped the ear in a way that worked for me, and kept out all the background noises. Modern, flat phones don't work, and cell phones are the worst. I've never owned a cell phone for this reason. I imagine I would need some kind of head set, but what I see in the stores is useless. Does anyone have a problem like this? What kind of cell phone gadgetry do you use? Do you have any links to useful articles that might point me in the right direction?
that's a new one, never heard of that problem before.
mine wouldn't work for you, it's an lg env, but i have a problem with phones in general, i am scared s**tless to talk on the phone. so i text and only text, i'm more comfortable with a forum style communication, so the only reason i have the one i do is for the keyboard and nothing else. the biggest cell phone bill i'll probably ever get is 5$ for the year, because i use it about 1% per month.
i only have the phone because my family got an extra line for free or something it was a deal that verison had at the time.
you could try those bluetooth headset things, but the only headset thing i know of that blocks out noise are my bose headphones. that sounds like an annoying problem, i wish you luck.

is that the same effect the quiet comfort headphones do?
i don't have a smartphone and i don't use it enough to justify getting one, my account or whatever is approved or something to upgrade my phone and i am not interested in the slightest.
it is good on battery life, just turned it on to see how much charge it had. i haven't charged it in forever or at least as far as my memory is concerned. still has a full charge. i have a media player that burns through it's battery charge even when turned off.
