OSX Hackintosh and Dw1490?

Hey!
The other day I ordered a Dell DW1490 Airport (Its not an airport card, but it supposed to work under OSX natively) I have just installed the wifi card into my Hackinotosh netbook (Acer Aspire One D250) and OSX wouldn't recognise it at all. Before I got the new wifi card, I tried to install some kexts to get the old incompatible non native wif card working, but failed. So I think I replaced a kext that would make that card work.

Since this is quite a specialised subject, you'll probably have better luck asking in the OSx86 forums.

Actually, I reinstalled OSX, (Which fixed the problem in question) and risked all of my hard work of installing OSX on my netbook 14 times.
Unfortunately, I cannot get the GPU drivers working like I could last time. Just knew it would happen.
Anyway, I think I have found the right kexts thank god.
Tomorrow I will do a reinstall with the right GPU kexts and it should be working then.
The only thing I have a problem with now is that I cannot turn on the new airport card.
There is a switch on the front of the machine which controls the Wifi card (the old one I think, might be both though) and I cannot get it to turn on. I might need to negative tape pin 20 on the new wifi card which apparently will tell the laptop that it is on.

Damn that's stressful (and will probably all break again when the next update is out), sure you don't just wanna install Linux or buy a MacBook Air?

Hahaha, unfortunately I dont have the cash for a Macbook Air, even if I did I would want to do it anyway haha (Im very strange like that ).
Yeah, very stressful, I could have fixed it without the reinstall, but I messed up my OSX install by accessing and writing a file on Linux making the OSX partition unbootable which I tell you know I was not happy about at all. I spent the whole reinstall of OSX rambling .
And yeah, I do have Linux on it which runs awesome, the only reason I want OSX on there is so I can do iPhone Development on it. And for the hell of it.
I think like I said found the right kext for my GPU anyway (Fingers crossed!!).
It took so long the last time I did a successful install on it. I had a really bad cold, so I was house ridden. Looking for something to do with semi minimal effort, I installed OSX on my netbook and it worked awesomely after the 14th install. 14 Installs in 2 days. The reason I had to reinstall so many times is because that bloody GMA 950 kext is so fussy, if it dont like your system, it wrecks your install ( Well not really, but it makes it so the whole screen is grey and you can only hear sound).
I tried the GPU kext that I used last time and cannot figure out why it wont work.
So... Yeah. Thats the story!

If you just need it for iPhone development, you can get a cheap used Mac if you want, far more practical for doing actual work. OSx86 is mainly good for mucking about with really, I wouldn't rely on it for practical stuff unless I'd custom built my computer with all natively OS X compatible hardware

Yeah, I am thinking of saving for a Macbook Air (Second hand 2010 one), if one becomes cheap enough next year I'l consider buying one.
I might some time in the future build a fully functioning hackintosh.
Its so satisfying when it works properly.
