Any overclockers here?

I happen to be a novice overclocker and was wondering if anyone else on here would be willing to share their overclocking experiences. I have a 2.66 GHz core i5 750 Lynnfield that I OC'd to 3.2 GHz with 8GB of 1600 MHz RAM running at stock speed. I have it cooled with a Corsair H60 Hydro Series.

Im too much of a scaredy cat to over clock .
I have howerver, tried over clocking on a old system:
3Gb DDR 2 Ram
Phenom I x 4 @ 2.8
GTS 250 1GB
I over clocked the CPU and it blue screened when it booted into Windows.
It wasn't that much, but got scared and stock clocked it again.
I did however over clocked the GPU, which worked a treat!

I haven't gotten around to overclocking my current system, but I did overclock my old NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT once. Needless to say, the miniport driver for that model was unstable, as I couldn't adjust either the core clock or the shader clock without experiencing 'seizures' or 'lock-ups'. The outcomes factor on the model of the GPU, typically.

Hah, I try to overclock most anything.
Current rig is a Phenom II X6 1090T @ 4.0 GHz using the H100.
Even my mom's PC is a 720 X3 unlocked to X4 and overclocked to 3.2 with a H50.

I think my first venture was OCing a 1.2 Athlon to 1.3.
It's gotten a lot better over the years with unlocked multipliers and unlinked buses. No longer have to watch the NIC quit working because it can't handle over ~40 MHz on the PCI bus

OC'ed my old rig, no need for it today really,
i have a profile for my cpu but i have never used it and my gpu never gets close to needing it, the cpu hits its limits well before that, havent tried pure graphical rendering on this GPU yet though.

I used to overclock my Eee PC when I wanted to play Morrowind. But that's it. I'm afraid I'm not much of an overclocker

I always use quality motherboards and aftermarket coolers when I build my system. So when it starts getting a little over the hill, I juice it up like Barry Bonds and get a few more years out of it It's a bit trickier with like a Dell, though. Most retail computers really aren't built for it.

meh running at 180% the i5 with a scythe ninja still wont reach the thermal warning under load, with water people have reached much higher speeds for actual use, even without water you can run the i5 to some 5,4 ghz and still not trip the thermal tripwire, running it a 75 degrees load for long periods would effect its longevity but again with water most of that heat can be removed.

new generations of hardware have insane OC potential.

I could OC my system if I wanted to as I've (over)engineered my PC's cooling to handle it, but I've never seen a personal need to do it. On the other hand, the improved cooling does wonders for the longevity of my components.

What're your personal picks? Mine are ASUS and Noctua (used to be Swiftech), respectively.
