Would it be legal to stream some MythTV recordings?

Hey!
I have made a TV Recording Streamer which basically records my fav TV programs and streams them throughout the network around my house.
Would it be legal to stream my fav recorded shows over an external IP or to a friend who just kept it to him self?
Any ideas?

The former seems to be a legal grey area. As for the friend watching it, that's probably illegal.

Yup - the laws are quite ludicrous. You know that it was actually considered illegal to video something off the TV for later use? The people who knew about it laughed in the VHS days, but it was still not legal.

They are trying to make hyperlinking to any copyrighted material illegal.
