I just heard about these. Besides it being a camera/GPS is there a market for these?

For people who want to look like they're straight out of a 1980s dystopian future movie

Problem is that anything that's worn especially on a very visible area like the face is going to be subject to fashion trends. Same way as with Blue Tooth headsets, which are no more or less useful today than they were when they were popular, but now if you wear one people will think you're a geek or worse. I think something like this won't really take off until its more of a module that can be mounted to any pair of glasses, and the smaller and less visible it is, the better it will be in the long run, but it may be trendy for a time.

I see huge possibilities for this device. BF and I have been brainstorming ideas to develop. There will always be early adopters and if I have the means I'll be one of them. Then you'll have the people who will wait for a more fashionable iteration. I'd love to be able to replace my cell phone and computer but I'm guessing it will be more of an accessory for a while.

yes I do, but my ipad would be better for this. If the people working on these glasses follow .Hack and make the glasses work with a controller and and do more I think I'll pick it up.

The idea sounds interesting, will be something to follow and see what happens

They seem dumb and unnecessary to me. I don't need a computer screen in my field of view 24/7. I'm not all that crazy about smartphones, either. I just don't see the point. I mean, who seriously wants to surf the web on a 10-minute bus ride or while waiting for your food to be served at a restaurant? Why not just wait until you get home?

Indeed for everyday life its kinda pointless, Smartphones already do most of GG

But for emergency services, giving live feed back to HQ where maybe an operator spots something the firefighter / policeoffice missed, That might be quite cool.

And I guess the military are already keeping tabs of tech like this.

But yes everyday life, guess it would give us a laugh, seeing some dude so busy surfing the net walking into a lap post.

You know these have already been used for duty and we are just getting them now. I could see this helpful in classes and in jobs where what you see is under question ( and fun on the side)

Dear Jane,

Having a lovely time here in Provence, the weather and the food is great although I don't think the snails are agreeing well with Carol. The hotel is absolutely fantastic, remind me to book here next year. There's an excellent selection of wines and perfumes, will remember to bring you something back. Next week, we will be skiing in the Pyrenees with a absolutely delightful hamper of fine champagnes in front of a roaring log fire. Give my regards to David, remind him to set the date for the office do this year, don't want to leave it till......OH s**t! I FORGOT TO PULL THE CHORD!! ! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGG!
