Did anyone else's laptop computer ever save stuff from the web? as it shuts down due to low battery. I was using my mothers and it saved the wrong planet logo and then displayed it as a screen saver when turned back on :? I would actually like it as my screen saver on my PC as I quite like it, any chance Alex?

I've had strange things like that back in the windows 98/ME/Active Desktop days, but only on desktop machines. Are you OK setting it back to your original wallpaper?

By the way, are you aware of the print-screen button for taking screenshots? Don't need to use digital camera for that.

Yeah a Wrongplanet screensaver and official wallpapers would be kewl. :D

I know how save it, when I think back. I was just wondering why it happened and is it one of your screen savers?

It's not my computer, it's my mothers. It would have been useless to take a screen shot as I would have to use hers again. I already got into trouble for that appearing on her comp.

It's the right thing to do though, ditch that son of a b***h. I am looking forward to getting my Mac pro also, are you getting any extra memory and so on? I can get Tax back, that is an extra bonus in it's self. :P

I'll probably go with the quad-core 2.66GHz model (unless an 8-core model becomes available before lol) and make sure it comes with 2GB of memory. Probably won't add any other stuff like hard disks as I've already got more 700GB of HDD capacity here. That already is gonna work out quite expensive enough I think

irish, i think i know what could have happened, right click on desktop and then click arrange icons by... remove checkmark from lock web items on desktop then see if the wrongplanet logo goes away and origisnal desktop returns, maybe were you messing with settings and accidentally put checkmark in the lock items??? or maybe someone thought it was funny?? (using a laptop with battery power and never happened on it)

good luck i hope this helps,

That sounds like an Ok set up to me. Maybe an 8-core will become available (anything is possible 8) ) I have to make sure I have the money in my bank account first, I am nearly there. Apple are not cheap, but with the tax back I will save around 400-500 euro. I would love 3 GB, but don't have the money, It's too much for an extra 1GB. And I don't want a glossy screen, they are too hard to see.

Thanks doordoctor, I already fixed it last night. It made me laugh because my mother could not fix it and was freaking. I think It was that the battery went dead and decided to save everything, as it does with files. It took a screen shot and then turned off. As I said it was strange, but that is windows for ya!

The prices of Apple's screens makes me want to barf in terror, so I'll probably go with a Dell, something like a 2005FPW, OK, quality isn't as great, but they're still good and you don't go bankrupt in the process. What kind of work do you use computers for?
