Does anyone else here use a smartphone? If so, which one(s) and/or what applications do you use? What OS does it use? Is there anything you dislike about it? Do you develop for it?

....I use Sony Ericsson P990 and P910 which both use UIQ and Symbian OS. When the former isn't crashing all over the place, the apps I use are Opera (web browser), email, RSS feeds viewer, GView (image viewer), various games (written with Symbian API and Java), Putty (OpenSSH/Telnet client), video playback and streaming, additionally sometimes use FTP. Seldom use it for MP3s, radio or picture taking.

Started looking into J2ME and Symbian API but started to miss OpenGL coding too much.

I use a Palm Treo 650. My husband and I each have one, and we both love it. The only thing I want it to have that it doesn't is WiFi.

I couldn't get along without it. It's essential for helping me overcome a lot of "asperger's related" things. Like never being able to find my car. I can write down in a memo where I parked my car. Or the fact that I can never find my way anywhere, even if I've been there 10 times. I have directions to a variety of places on my phone. I have a calendar that keeps track of when I have to do things, like which days the house payment goes out on, and which days recycling has to go out.

I don't even own a regular cell. I don't want people to be able to annoy me wherever I go.

I don't currently have a smartphone but I've been pondering getting a Samsung i730 as my "new-every-two" upgrade through Verizon. I guess technically its a "PocketPC with phone features added" more than a "phone with pda features added" but similar idea. Seems like it would be very useful to have - almost like a tiny laptop. And with games and emulators it could be a great mobile gaming device. Anyone used this Samsung model?

That's what the "ringer-off" setting is for. :) Actually I'm the same way - I hate to be bothered by phone calls (hate using the phone in general) but I just keep the ringer off when I don't want to be bothered and only use my cell when I need it or expecting an important call.

I had(still have) a Nokia 6680, but due to Nokia's complete lack of support for A2DP(Stero Bluetooth) i upgraded to a SE W850i.

The only A2DP phones Nokia sell at the moment are the crappy low end ones and the 8gb N91, which i havent heard anything about since it was announced, only thing i have seen that is new is the fact Nokia seem to have acknowleged it on their website.

Looooove my Treo 600 (although I lust after a newer model). I much prefer being in touch via email to using the telephone.
