What's the best version of Microsoft Flight Simulator? I like the 2004 (Century of Flight) edition. I want to try Flight Simulator X Deluxe Edition pretty soon.

I still have one of the versions from the 1990s (I think 5.1, which came out in 1995 or 1996) for nostalgic purposes (because it contains the Twin Towers in the New York scenario).

Don't bother with ten unless you have dx 10 compatible PC,cause it suffers from a ton of lag.

Go with 2004.

I'll make a note of that.

I've only played Flight Simulator 95, with its blocky graphics.

IL-2 Sturmovik. Hands down the best FS out there.

One of my ECrushes is fairly big into aviation. I'll try and find out what simulator it is that she has (it sounds like it's really fantastic, but it also might be very expensive)

edit: X-Plane, at http://www.x-plane.com/ Turns out it's not that expensive.

Yeah, X-plane is really cool. You can design your own plane, change the wings etc. As for me I just can't fly without a gunsight in front of me...lol
