I ended up buying a brand new Acer Aspire v5-561PG-6686 for my brand new computer. Everything is great, except the battery won't charge. :wall:

I mean, when I plug it int the laptop, the battery doesn't deplete itself, but it won't charge either. I can't find a reliable fix method for this laptop model either.

Any suggestions on how to fix this would be amazing. I don't really wanna send it back because I'm already in love with it, but if I have to I want to take care of it while it's still under warranty.

Thanks!

Does this company have a functional tech support line? Call 'em! I know you say you can't find a fix - what have you tried? Is there any online forum for this make and model where you might find an answer? If not, is there any tech support from your supplier? You might just have a piece of bum hardware and it needs replacement. Good luck

^ I know there's a number I can call, but I can't really access it right now because I have unreliable cell service.

I'll try that when I get home, though! Thanks. :)

if you bought it at a computer store you can take it back and have them give you a new battery. That sounds like a bad battery or the charging mechanism is broken.

If you bought it via internet order you would have to return the machine.

I contacted Acer customer support and they suggested that I let the battery drain and then try charging it after it's been completely depleted. If I still can't charge it after it dies, then I should send it in for service.

The nice thing was they said they would cover all the costs since I just got it, if it came to that. I'm okay for right now.
