I am stuck on chapter 5 of the installation of expect. What happened was that configuring the expect package returned blank. I have followed every thing what the LFS book said. I'm working on LFS 6.3 on the live cd:
I have tried to patch expect in the same directory that expect is in:

patch -p1 < expect-5.43.0-spawn-1.patch
Do you patch expect with the patch in the same directory? I don't
really know how to patch packages from source yet.
