I'm having a similar issue. On my old computer, I had Office 2007 installed when I bought it (but didn't receive the installation disk). Without the installation disk, how can I transfer the license over, putting it on my new computer?
Do I just move the files and registry entries over? What happens if I miss a registry entry?
Charlie is so cute!
I downloaded office 2013 trial on to my new computer and plugged the key from the other computer in and it took it with no problem.
Since you have 2007, I don't know how you could do it though. One time a long time ago, I did buy something (I think it was called a mirror software). I had to take the hard drive out of my old laptop and then install software - I can't remember if I installed it on the new machine or the old hard drive, but it essentially turned my new hard drive into my old one so I didn't need to reactivate the programs. I can't remember what the program was but I bet there are several such programs around. You do have to have access to your old hd though, so if that's dead you are out of luck in that regard.
