Tensor calculus - Indicial Notation

Hi friends,

indicial notation is really an issue to me, i don´t seem to get it. It´s a totally new language to me. I think it´s too abstract. Can anyone tell me about any book/tutorial (better if online) that can explain what the indexes represent.

I am stuck and it´s stopping me from doing my best at graduate school. I still remember those good old days when all we used was vector algebra and i didn´t know why partial derivatives existed at all.

Any suggestions/ links will be apreciated. Thanks in advance

http://mathworld.wolfram.com/ is a very good Maths resource, and has stuff on quite advanced topics.
There should be something relative there.

Edit: Is it divergence/gradient/curl you're refering to?
