Its okay if you want to run a quick version of Linux on Windows but there are far more superior virtualization options if your on Linux, qemu and Xen to name a few. Having said that I am playing around with writing my own bootloader and OS with virtual box.

Here is howto for playing around with boot loader, its not as cool as it sounds but its a fun exercise and you can learn from it.

Love VirtualBox. I use it all the time to experiment and play around with different operating systems.

My current list of virtual OSs:
MS-DOS 5.0
DR-DOS 7.03
FreeDOS 1.1
Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope
Slackware 14.1

I will soon add Windows 95 to this list.

It's ok, it's free and i use it at home to run an XP image with old 16 bit games in it. Prefer VMWare workstation though, but latest version is quite expensive.

It's alright if you'd like to run OSes quickly, but i guess theres alternatives like VmWare, although that one is paid.

Still, love it really good though ;)
