I have downloaded utorrent having been told by a pc guy that it torrent files are less prone to viruses than those off programmes like limewire and kazaa...is this true? I note there is no inbuilt virus scanner on utorrent, but I want to download, without risk of viruses.

Anyone else use bit torrent etc?

I have also heard that bit torrent is safer than the traditional file sharing programs, but it can take longer if the file you are trying to download is not very popular. It's like the more people who have the file you are downloading the faster it will download for you.

It may be true that there are fewer viruses. But any download could have a virus. Many of these programs put a heavy load on your OS and can have some nasty spy ware included. Torrent clients typically don't.

I prefer bittorrent over things like limewire any day as it much safer than limewire and related software

I normally block limewire (and similar)on my network IF I suspect it running anywhere

Opera has intergrated a Bitorrent client since version 9.0

Opera should get their priorities straight. They were behind on many things like AJAX.

I thought seed was a typo for send...
What does seed mean?

As to leaving on overnight, I shall have to do that.
Will it just start up again if the connection to the net glitches or gets disrupted?
