dvd authoring?

Anyone know any good dvd authoring programs for either windows or linux?

authoring as in....creating content, or just backing it up?

I would really highly recomend the Adobe CS3 Suite

I have Nero 8 installed on my machine, that has a DVD authoring part for video DVDs, seems good but makes my machine slow right down, uses a lot of CPU time on my machine for some odd reason (Athlon XP 2600+)

I'm not offering this as a recommendation, as I haven't used it.

It seems to be a rather old package, and the home site seems to have vanished, but at least someone is still using it, as there's a Hardy Heron package available.

I use Nero 7. It works fine for me but takes a little getting used to.

I've burnt the following (and more) all have worked in my DVD Players and on the computer.

DVD Photo/Music montages
DVDs off my digital camera's movie function
DVDs from Converted YouTube video
DVDs from ISOs
DVDs from AVIs from uTorrent - not pirated exactly, just Dr Who that I can't get because my aerial won't receive channel 2.... I'll be buying the real thing when it's released in Australia in November.

I hardly ever make frisbees these days..
