Is there such a thing as a DL speed controller. With 4 people using the same connection, and Australia's pathetic internet speeds, (I am in a regional area and can get 180 kbs at best) it only takes one person to download from a site and the rest of the house is screwed. Torrents and Limewire are fine because we can throttle these back, the main culprit is Steam. I have tried NET-Regulator but it is to0 flaky and steam wont work with it. I also use Downthemall and again no speed adjustments! Any ideas.

Thing is I am very close t a city/town of 90k people. No where in Australia could the internet be called worlds average let alone worlds best. And now they want to fiter it which could potentially drop speeds some reporting it could be as bad as 80%

Does your router not support QoS? (Quality of Service)

That would allow you to prioritise certain traffic above all other traffic, or lower priority on certain traffic.

If not could you buy one that does? If not cFosSpeed does the same thing but would need to be installed on all computers.
