I placed this here because it involves technology - I hope this is the correct spot. I have recently purchased a used Bearcat/Uniden scanner made for the old Montgomery Ward's chain of stores, model number GED-838A. Its receive range stops at 50 MHz before picking up again in 2 meters, and I was wondering if there was anyway that I could modify it to receive 50-54 MHz or below 30 MHz without modification to the circuits. If not, does anyone have a schematic for this design so this under the hood stuff could go a little easier? Thank you so much! I hope I do not sound cocky at all.
