"I Dream of Jeannie" movie coming up - casting

I hope that just stick to the format of the show (abet with Jeannies belly button visable). As far as I'm conserend an exotic actress would be cool, but I don't think that have the Middle East (which will surely be depicted at the start of the film) sould be shown as it really was!

They should just keep it in the Arabian Nights style as she is a frickin Genie!! !!

And if any of you start saying that sexist let me add that it's NOT cos she is a Genie after all and would still have to obey her 'master' regardless of her gender!! !!

(Even the old show did have her protrayed as spunky anyhow!)

Maybe though she could be more spunky and indpendent, and I'm quite sure that the film (if it is ever made) will end with her being freed and with her then falling in love with her 'master'.

However my gf can be a lot like her at times when I let her out of her bottle....

Hmm, I really fancy a few Rubies now.....

I used to wonder who I fancied more. Jeannie or Samantha from Bewitched.

I think I go for Samantha. She was the perfect wife and mother.
Jeannie was prettier but she was a total moron.

In both series the man was a useless jerk who did not deserve a magical partner.

Alba has the body..................and that's it. She can't act.

if this had been greenlighted a decade ago, good choices would have been tom hanks and angelina jolie. tom hanks would have made a perfect major nelson, and angelina jolie would have been a charismatic jeannie.
nowadays, i would guess that paris hilton would make a passable jeannie [she did it once before] and honestly can't think of an appropriate actor for the nelson role other than tom hanks in heavy makeup. an unconventional choice would be chris rock.

jenna elfman rocks ok i love her so that would be a good choice.

Alba and Carrell, no offense to them..sound like an awful choice. Elfman and Kinnear would be a better match for the original characters. Maybe even Naomi Watts as Jeannie?
