My favorite anime series has always been, and will always be, Sailor Moon.

The anime series Case Closed gets an honorable mention as well.

I haven't watched in detail many anime series, though; so I'm sure there are plenty others out there that I would enjoy.

So what are we doing in this thread, saying our favourite anime? Well my favourite genre is comedy, with some romance, and I my favourite changes depending what mood I am in. But if I had to choose, it would be Kanon, the 2006 version and the Clannad series, both send you through all the emotions, and quite magnificently, from bursting out laughing , to blubbering in tears.

Special mention of Hayate no Gotoku for being wacky and fun.

Recently started to watch InuYasha, Black Lagoon and Rurouni Kenshin. Almost finished watching the series of Ranma 1/2.

The anime that I really like are Evangelion, Azumanga Daioh, FLCL, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Pani Poni Dash, Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, Beck Mongolian Chop Squad, Kanon (2006), Giant Robo: The Animation, Ah! My Goddess, Blue Seed, Magic Knight Rayearth, and more (I just can't pick a favorite).

How about we include how we got into anime in this thread? For me, it all started during the rise of Toonami. With great anime such as Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Tenchi Muyo!, and Outlaw Star part of it's weekday line-up, I couldn't help but become intrigued by how different they were from the cartoons I was used to watching. As time moved on, I've seen many anime come and go, some I liked and some I disliked. However, it wasn't until three years ago when I started collecting the Dragon Ball Z seasons on DVD. After two years of DBZ collecting, I started picking up more DVDs of anime I heard of either on the internet, or from a friend. That is when I truly felt like an otaku. I've now seen more anime than I thought I ever would have seen, and I plan on collecting the DVDs for a long time to come.

What drew me to the anime series Sailor Moon was the colorful transformations and pretty costumes. I always had a thing for girly things, so I was naturally drawn to stuff like that.

Oh jeez Clannad, , great series but the second season does give you a good punch in the gut.

My first anime? well I stumbled on toonami when I was a kid so pretty much DBZ, Gundam Wing, Ronin Warriors, Rurouni Kenshin, and Yu Yu Hakusho.
