One of my favorite bands is fairly obscure, and the other is even less well-known: King Crimson and Gong, in that order.

Gong did a soundtrack back in the early 70s, for the movie Continental Circus. Psychedelic rock and motorcycle racing sounded like a good combo to me, but I hadn't thought about it in decades. Today, I just typed it into YouTube and there it was. I started to watch it, and it's kind of cool in that period way. The music goes great with the racing, but people got seriously hurt and died all the time in that era of racing, and the film is full of nasty crashes. I had to stop.

I enjoy hearing instrumental versions of songs I know, but they accompany some heavy movies. Birdy is another example, and also 1984.

I did hear 21st Century Schizoid Man in a movie recently, but I can't recall where. Probably the sample brought it back. and people would flip if they knew it came from '69.

Laughable when the monsters are on-screen and incredibly dull when they're not.

I've been told the book is far better, and I hope that's true. It certainly can't be any worse.

Haven't watched this in a while, but decided to view it again. Scorsese picks interesting themes, though the characters lack depth and his usual reliance on pop songs places culture and circumstance over individuality, which is not very satisfying.

Found Drunken Master on demand. I'm really happy, because it's the first time I've seen a full screen capture of the theatrical release.

"Rings"

Even though I 'zoned out' during regular periods of the film, on the rare occasions when I was paying attention, I found the movie rather disappointing. Some of the decisions made by the characters were laughably illogical.
