Always liked this as a kid
I have never heard of it.
Well, The Water Babies is a 1978 live action-animated feature film, very loosely based on the book The Water-Babies, A Fairy Tale for a Land Baby by Charles Kingsley. The film is directed by Lionel Jeffries.

Replicant Blade Runner Joe finds himself on a mission to erase evidence of a Replicant woman, Rachel, who had died in childbirth. His search turns upside down his world and makes his a fugitive, finding ex Blade Runner Deckard who had thrown away his former life for Rachel, then had hidden their child away. Both Joe and Deckard come to realize that there are sinister forces planning to stop them from finding Deckard's daughter.
I very much enjoyed this movie. I think those who did not were expecting something closed to the original film.
