Not bad, but could have done more with it.

Abandoned (2015)

Based on a story from 1989: a bunch of guys set sail from NZ to Tonga (i think) on a catamaran, it topples over and they struggle to survive, eventually turning their survival situation into a well stocked sushi restaurant. Their rescue is weird because no one would believe that they survived for 120 days and they are treated as frauds at first.

Animal.

A group of college aged friends, while hiking in the woods, are suddenly attacked by a monster. Finding a cabin where other survivors of a monster attack are hiding, they resolve to try escaping, but at the risk of death.
Okay B grade horror film. Watch it with alcohol.

The Cloverfield Paradox

It tried very hard to be weird for the sake of being weird. Sometimes this works if the plot ties weird events together, but this movie didn't do that making the plot seem like disjointed isolated bits.

I do give the movie credit though for being a well done production with good direction and I did really like the cast. I'm not sure what to think of this movie, but if a 4th feature is released, it might put this movie into perspective.

Hellboy 2: The Golden Army.

"The mythical world starts a rebellion against humanity in order to rule the Earth, so Hellboy and his team must save the world from the rebellious creatures" - IMDB summary

Some humor in Hellboy 2 seemed a little goofy to me, but otherwise I really enjoyed how it dived into a mythical world and confronting the Golden Army itself.

I also like the character Johann and had hoped to see more of him in a 3rd movie.

They're making a third Hellboy movie, but I'm not sure if it will be a direct sequel or a reboot. All I know is that it will be R-rated and similar to Logan and Deadpool.
