The show has been going for about a million years but Dr Who is still an idiot.

He lands on some planet in his broken Tardis and goes for a walk outside where he is ALWAYS captured by nasty aliens.

I wouldn't go outside without full body armor and a BIG ray gun but he just strolls out every time.

He never thinks: "Wait! the last 100 times I have gone out unarmed I have been captured by nasty aliens"

Can anyone say "STUPID"?

Sorry, I think you might be confused with Star trek.

Out of all the episodes in series one, the TARDIS never breaks down except for the episode with the Cybermen. Also, he's just called The Doctor. Not Doctor Who.

Aside from the inaccuracies of your post, I think you've missed the whole point of the show.

I am at this moment watching Terror Of The Zygons which is from Tom Baker era it is early Tom Baker episodes was known as the gothic era of Doctor Who which involved eygptian mummies and monster that looks like frankensteins monster and androids which impersonate people and it was known for having a lot of complaints for being too violent for family viewing

*spoiler for last xmas episode*

gallifrey was shown next to the earth, and appeared IIRC to be several times bigger. (ignoring for a moment the fact that if the moon causes the waves etc that mass would probably cause a global tsunami instantly) surely the gravity produced by a planet that big would mean any 6ft bipeds would evolve to have limbs the size of hippos, yet somehow the 'timelords' look exactly the same as homo sapiens??

The Time Lords are able to shape time and space. Who's to say that they didn't warp Gallifrey to a larger size for...ahem, Freudian reasons?

The way I see it, Gallifrey wasn't totally there yet. It was following a signal to escape the time lock. If you notice, the Time Lord leader and the ones behind him were shown on a white background, as if they were coming to earth, but weren't there yet.

Also, if Gallifrey were less dense than Earth, gravity would be accordingly lower for its size.

Remeber that Doctor Who is not a Linear story, twisty-turny, just like time, The Doctor makes a point of this several times, and also hints at being able to see time and reality in a very diffrent way to Humans. Also impossible things are another theme of Doctor Who which crops up frequently.

Personally I thought the last 2 epsiodes over xmas where RUBBISH, great idea, very badly excuted, was very dissapointed :? also thought that Matt Smith was copying David Tenanats style far to much, i hope he develops his own, but then I am being very judgemental considering he woz on screen for all of 10 seconds lol

Yeah, he might do alright. He did come close to winning me over when he felt his chin and said, "Blimey!" When the change was announced, I looked at his picture and, petty thing that I am, just couldn't get past that chin. But I'm hoping that his interpretation of that sequence was intended to be sort of lingering Doctor 10 personality after the shock of regeneration, not a sign of his inexperience and intimidation at taking on the role. I mean, think of the pressure.

I have high hopes for the new Doctor. But I can see why you, especially people with Asperger's, might be disturbed by a departure this great from previous Doctors.

Edit: Awesome.

I expect that is just because he had regenerated. If anyone remembers when Christopher Eccleston changed into David Tennant, DT was very much like the 9th doctor in the final episode but (after he woke up!) in the Christmas special, he was completely different! I expect the 11th doctor will change.

I'm not the only one who freaks out whenever the doctor changes though am I? I was crying well bad on the final episode!

Y'know, I was trying to come up with an actual scientific explanation for the gravity question, rather than introducing more fictional ones. :P I already know gravity isn't an issue for them, lol.

I agree, don't expect #11 to always behave like this. #10 was a lot more mellowed out in series 2 (e.g. New Earth, School Reunion) than he did in series 3 and 4 (e.g. Smith and Jones). You could see the change as series 2 progressed; David Tennant's Doctor only really came into its own by the end of series 2.

I didn't cry, but when he said, "I don't want to go!" I came close to it. He just looked so pitiful. And has there been an uglier death in all of Doctor Who? He absorbs HUGE amounts of radiation and dies slowly over what appears to be several days? And he has to do it voluntarily after thinking he was going to die (for keeps) and still surviving! No wonder he threw a fit before letting Wilf out. And then he bursts into flame and blows the Tardis clean out of orbit? Dude.

Of course, it was really cool. But I renew that question... I know once he died from a fall, and once he died in a bungled operation (man, that was a cheesy movie. Which I kinda liked) which was pretty nasty, too. And now two from soaking up something or other from somewhere or other in order to save a human. I hope they get creative when they off the next guy... They'll have to, mind you.

I don't think David Tennant death was as harsh I think the worst death for doctor who is either Jon Pertwee to Tom Baker in that episode the doctor has a blue crystal from this planet he visited and because he stole this crystal a human colony landed on this planet and through them these spiders which were on the spaceship mutated and the spider queen needs the crystal. The doctor refuses later in the episode a time lord who was his mentor meets him and tells him that he must give the crystal to the spider queen and through that the doctor has radiation poisoning he comes back to earth to pick up Sarah Jane Smith and as he does that collapses on the floor and in this one he actually dies and the time lord appears where the doctor is and revives him and then the doctor regenerates into Tom Baker

Also was Peter Davison last story he and Peri go to this planet and they both get a disease and they both face death with this disease the doctor makes an antidote but there is only enough for one and he carries Peri to the tardis and quickly gives her the antidote and he collapses on the floor and this time he thinks he is going to die and his last words were 'Is this death it feels different this time' and then all the companions from the Peter Davison era appear to him and tells him not to die and then The Master appears and tells him to die and starts laughing and then suddenly you hear an explosion and The Doctor wakes up as Colin Baker.

I think those two were worst

now that is fandom run amuck...;)

I thought Gallifrey was destroyed. But I only stop in every few years or so, to see what's up. Last episode I saw was a Cyberman Steampunk robot menacing Victorian London (which was actually only a few weeks ago, on BBC America...;)

lol great set vids thanks!

Pakled; Galifrey was put in a time bubble, with the darleks to end the time war, they escaped; have to feel a little sorry for The Master really, after all that!
