Seconding all the holiday films and Miyazakis... also The Shop Around the Corner, Holiday, You Can't Take it with You, Mr Deeds Goes to Town, Enchanted April, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, A Room with a View (with Helena Bonham Carter), Big Fish...

Let's face it, I really prefer movies that make me feel good.

I love Room With a View, can't believe I forgot it! Also Howards End. Just Merchant Ivory productions of Forster in general (the books are excellent too).

Big Fish I really enjoyed but the end just made me cry and cry and cry, so I'm not sure if I could watch it again because it really got to me. Burton was really on form when he made it.

I watched Mozart and the Whale 4 times so far, some of the things I like (other then the main characters Donald and Isabelle) is Donald's group, I would love to have a group like that, its so nice how he takes care of them, and such a good ending too. I thought the scene at the beginning when he leaves the 2 guys in the car was great too, because eventho he does that because the situation is too much, I thought they deserved it ... when they say "you can't leave us like that" I thought "yeah he can, byeeee" lol (I thought they were rude not to at least look at him a little bit when he talked to them).

It is essential to get that particular version of A Room with a View, too... I saw one on PBS that was cold and emotionless to begin with, and then tacked on a made-up ending that made it a feel bloody rotten movie. Since when did George die in the Great War? Bleah. I would have expected better of PBS... I figured with all their talk they'd be focused on keeping the story true to the book... but they don't do that so much anymore, do they?

Make that a another vote for Groundhog Day, along with Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Fried Green Tomatoes, Casino Royale and my handsdown favorite To Wong Foo: Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar. I have to admit that two of my feel-good movies feature drag queens and also that I don't understand why.

How could I forget? I love that one! The late Patrick Swayze was my favorite drag queen out of the main three.

yes a group like that would be neat. i have been to a few group meetings a long long time ago and while they were all very intelligent, interesting, honest, and young adult, i stopped going mostly because at that time i wasnt officially diagnosed yet and/or didnt accept my asperger's yet. i was still in denial or thinking it was someone else's problem with me. and a girl like isabelle would be good too especially if she is as creative, expressive, fun natured, and just plain sweet like she was.
