I liked the Sci-Fi channel Dune better than the 80s 'over the top' version.
I liked Battlestar Galactica remake (well, until 2004) better than the original, but that wasn't too hard to do...;)

Especially since the 1976 remake used the World Trade Center buildings as a major plot point. 8O

That would be as weird as two versions of The Incredible Hulk five or so years apart... :P

Not to mention that one had an unnecessary sequel. Why was that even made?

Best Remakes-

The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari
The Thing ('82)
The Fly
Last House On The Left
The Ring

Worst Remakes-

The Hitcher
A Nightmare On Elm Street
The Eye
Godzilla

I'm sure there are others.

Question: Are there any movies you think should deserve a remake?

I am sorry, True Grit makes your Best remake list?

I could not even watch the whole thing, got it on netflix was part through it and told the person I was watching it with - NO! this is NOT the movie we are stopping and watching the REAL ONE! the we played the real one on instant. I watch it at least once a year much like a number of other movies

Worst
Miracle on 34th st

IMHO - if it has been made, don't ruin it. They did it right, leave it alone.

I thought that the 1995 Richard III was a good remake.

I also thought the remake of "Miracle on 34th Street" was one of the worst remakes, ever!! Also, "The Wiz" (remake of "The Wizard of Oz"). Are you kidding me, that wasn't a movie----that was a JOKE!! !!

One of the best remakes: "The Fly".
