Hey guys,

you will probably think I am the most nerdiest guy you have ever met, but when I came upon this topic through Google, I just had to make an account and reply to this topic.. Even tho it is an old topic..

I know, it's really weird, but I cannot help myself...

Because dudes, I mean DUDES...! !! !!

You cannot even begin to compare Star Trek with any other sci-fi show out there, you simply cannot! I heard some people mention stuff like character development etc, but Star Trek is not just some show meant for your amusement, like all the rest of the sci-fi shows, who's only goal is to amuse you the best it can.

Star Trek is about philosophy, it's about where we are going as a race and it is actually about the world we live in today!

I am not some sci-fi fan who dresses up as one of the captains and goes to meetings to make a fool out of myself, nor am I a regular sci-fi fan so I am not writing this purely because I have sided with Star Trek and see it as the honorable thing to do to defend this show with everything I have.

Star Trek is a piece of art, especially the earlier parts and as human beings we should all respect that and respect their contribution to human development!!

Please read up about Star Trek or trust my judgement..! !

Thank you for reading :p

Clearly you have not seen much of b5 if you think it is shallow.
Star Trek has it's place if anything it cleared the way for a show like b5 being made. Watch more of b5 and you will see what i mean.

in terms of quality and/or inovation for the time period:
B5 < TOS
B5 > TNG
B5 = DS9
B5 > Voyager
B5 > Enterprise

Babylon 5 might be better than only TOS. I said might cause they redid the TOS special effects. You don't need to call it "B5" either since the franchise only has one show.
