This morning it's "Rocket Man" by Elton John. No idea where that came from, but I like it, so it's ok.

That got stuck in my head today (damn coworker was singing it).

That's a great song!! :)
Does your co worker like to sing all the time?
You should tell him or her to try out then for American Idol.

"May this be Love" by the Jimi Hendrix Experience. It has this beautiful dreamy guitar by Hendrix and wonderful tom-tom work from Mitch Mitchell.

It's actually quite a nice antidote to holiday craziness. Maybe that's why my inner DJ is spinning this one.

Well, the granddaughter's listening to 'Daddy Day care' (she's 3), so right now it's Sweet- Ballroom blitz (though that was the same song for the BBC 'Life on Mars'...;)

Nice! That was a great scene and use of the song in "Life on Mars". I also thought the first episode was some of the best use of music I've ever seen on TV. In particular, the title tune, and the scene with "Baba O'Riley".

I was on a trip last week and heard The Grateful Dead's "Touch of Grey" in a shop. I then had it running through my head for the next 3 days.

The Killers' "I Can't Stay" was the next one to get stuck.

I have the song "Zettai Kaichou Sengen?" in my head, which was an ending song in Seitokai no Ichizon, for some reason it just seems so funny as it sung as if by one of the characters who is around 17/18 but acts and looks much younger and holds the place of student president. The song has her bragging about her position, saying "third verse" when forgeting words and giggling like an idiot. Here is the TV version:

The theme song for Juan Miguel and Marichuy. Don't know who sings it, or the title, but its just repeating in my head. Buscandola de nuevo ya no esta, se fue, etc.

Grace Kelly by Mika... possibly because I was just talking about David Tennant in the Doctor Who thread and this is where I first heard the song:

Songs stuck in the head because such a problem for me in high school that I set about training myself to learn a few choice songs well enough that I could run them in the place of a more annoying one that got stuck. Some songs put up more of a fight, though, especially if they contain a passage of music or words that my brain can't seem to straighten out and thus replays in an attempt to make them flow properly. It's weird.

About David Tennant... I still do not get him playing Casanova. He's cute and all, but I just can't see it.

Good song, and yes - very catchy.

Too right. Maybe not quite what you are describing, but Nick Hornby wrote about "solving" songs, and I often think of it that way.

Well, it was Elvis' birthday last Friday, so I listened to one of my Elvis collections. Now I've got "Wear My Ring Around Your Neck" alternating with "(You're the) Devil in Disguise". Why those two? No idea. Why couldn't it have been "Heartbreak Hotel" and/or "Jailhouse Rock", both of which I love and wouldn't mind getting "stuck"? <sigh>

BTW, thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread. It makes me feel better to know I'm not the only one with music constantly running through my head. Plus I really like some of the songs you've posted which I have not heard before.

Edit: and please keep those replies coming! :D
