You know whats funny is that you think most people in the world are batman comic books fans. I am sure movie goers who are not fans of the comics like me, may not like Nolans batman movies becasue we might actually appreciate the other side of batman.
You don't just have to read the comics just to be a batman fan. I am sure plenty of people out there are very fond of the old adam west and schummer films like batman forever not batman and robin of course cause that was a bad film but not utterly atrocious unless you worship the batman comics. Batman and Robin was actually quite an entertaining film with amazing special effects but of course to die hard batman comics fans if they had the choice that film would have never seen the light of day.
It depends what you like. If you like the dark gritty side of batman then so be it but a lot of people i know who grew up in the 1960's adored the old adam west batman series. When I watch episodes it is actually quite cool and funny. It has a real big cult following as well. In a way Schummacers films were quite faithtful to adam wests portrayal of the dark knight.
Don't know why I was so fond of the 90's batman cartoons yet dislike Nolans interpretation of batman. Whatever but the truth is Nolans vision of batman certainly is not the best it could have been.
Fair enough though Nolans does have a job of portraying the dark gloomy aspect of batman. He is merely experimenting but experiments do not always come out as you expected.
What I find interesting as well is that I loved the dark gritty 1990's batman cartoons yet I was not hugely impressed with Nolans work. That initself says that a better director could have tackled the dark side of batman other than Nolan.
You don't just have to read the comics just to be a batman fan.
To know what you are talking about you do
Batman and Robin was actually quite an entertaining film with amazing special effects but of course to die hard batman comics fans if they had the choice that film would have never seen the light of day. Which is why Critics and normal people hated it as well and is considered the worst film of all time by pretty much everybody not just comic fans.

Batman and Robin was not a great movie, but it is not as bad as what people make it out to be. Its watchable for sure and has some funny moments and like I said good special effects for its time. Sure its an insult to bat COMIC fans but not so much film fans or children that might enjoy it. What your forgetting is that Batman and Robin is not a terrible film but its just the runt of a good litter.
There are two sides to the story here becasue there is a world outside of the batman comic books. You have to remember the Old Adam west TV series had a big cult following and some people worshipped that TV series just as much as the comics. I myself am not a huge fan of the Adam West TV series but I loved the way Schummer used the Adam West series to influence Batman Forever becasuse it worked very well indeed. Batman Forever is just as good as Batman Begins and I personally enjoyed more than Begins.
Bale I must point out is quite wooden really does not put a great deal of emotion into playing Bruce Wayne. Watching Bale act in the bat films reminds me of how Steven Seagal acts in his films. Not a great deal of emotion in his facial expression when playing batman. I actually thought Val Kilmer was far cooler at playing Bruce a lot more natural. Bale is just nothing there are tons of better actors out there who could do a far better job at playing batman. God at least Val Kilmer does not go around hitting his family and having a go at film directors unlike a certain someone. Bale stereotypically portrays bruce wayne as being an emotionally cold robot which he is not. Bale like others have been saying is the weakest player in Nolans bat films. Who do I think is the strongest player? Alfred Pennywoth. Liam Neeson and Heath Ledger for sure stole the show from Bale in the Nolan Films as well. I actually liked Neesons acting better than Heath Ledgers. Ledger was actually overrated as playing the joker yet he still managed to outshine and steal the show from bale yet again. Saying something isn't it? I don't think Bale himself actually enjoys starring in the Nolan films casue most of the time in the films he looks like he wants to kill everyone.
Like somone on my previous thread said before about Nolans bat films "Overworked, dull, leaden and charmless". In a nutshell.

Spelled "Schumacher" wrong, troll. If Nolan's films are overworked, dull, leaden and charmless, then why don't you go to your local Nursery and watch the f**king Tellytubbies. Batman Forever and Batman and Robin are total INSULTS. end of debate.
Who are you to criticise Bale's personal life? You don't know him, so keep your mouth shut. Kilmer was a wooden Batman, and O'Donnell an annoying Robin.
So what if we're stubborn comic fans? We have morals and standards!
PS: The day Robert Pattinson even sets foots on a Bat-movie, i will declare jihad on Hollywood.

Batman Forever is not an insult its a classic film that is why after all it did get 4 stars in film guide. It got the same amount of stars that batman returns got as well. Go figure.
I don't know much about Robert Pattison but I just though he looked the part.
I have exposed you guys for what you really are, stubborn comic book fans who will not tolerate anyones differeing points of view and cannot think outside of the box. Just becasue the comic books portrayed batman in a certain light does not mean that is the way he should be in his films. There are two sides of the coin here 'the serious side of batman' and the 'camp side of batman'. The serious side is more suited to the cartoons and comic books than on the big screen. The camp side is more suited to the big screen becasue its entertaining and appeals to a wider audience. I for one like the camper side of batman.
When I first got my copy of batman begins back in 2005 I was dissapointed becasue it was not all that i twas cracked up to be. The way it was filmed and the acting from bale in particular made it dull. You can call this unreasnable but I did expect a bit more dark humour in it and better special effects. When I got my copy of the Dark Knight in late 2008 I was very excited becasue after watching clips of it on youtube i thought it would be spectacular. But again I was very dissapointed becasue I could barely watch the film towards end. What made it dull again is the way it was shot and the acting also the plotline as well is hard to follow. A lot of the film is shot in gotham during the day time and its so uninteresting that it just bores you becasue gotham city looks to 'real'. Even the lighting effects in the Nolan bat films just make the films so dull. That is why the batman films of the past where better 1. they offered you escapisim, 2. the acting was better, 3 better special effects, 4 better fight scenes, 5 surreal gotham city and much more as well. That is what nolasn films lack 'escapisim' and that surreal type setting that made past batman films so replayable. A lot of batman fans would agree that batman returns is better than the dark knight and batman begins. Batman returns is not my favourite batman film, batman forever is my number 1.
Bale is wooden as batman certainly not better than Kilmer. Kilmer I thought was more genuine.

Oooh, get you, Sherlock!
Batman Forever ONLY appealled to me when i was 11, then when i left school i started to read the comics and graphic novels during my moody alternative teen phase at college. The rest is history as they say.

Who cares whether it got 4 stars by Film Guide? Empire gave it 3 stars, what does that say? 3 words.... Everyone's a critic! Total Film weren't around back then, not untill 1997 when they gave Batman and Robin 1 star.
A decade later, TF gave Begins 5 stars and TDK 5 stars. Deal with it, or don't. And i grew up with the Burton films and the Animated Series, so does that answer your question on how i supposedly "lack imagination" yet?

I am not a troll actually at college I am studying film and hope to work in the industry one day. I know what I am talking about when it comes to films and making a movie that is worth seeing.
I know a lot of fans who grew up wtih Adam West that love the camp and funny side of batman. I have had work experience in film as well and many batman fans love the old adam west series. To all you comic books fan go in your bat cave and obssess over the serious side of batman leave the rest of the fans to admire the light hearted side of batman.
Sure the photography in the dark knight was amazing. So what? Is it something rare nowadays. In every two or three minutes, there would be some blast, something would burn someone would fire bazuca or it might be simple fist fighting. If you want to create tenstion, then create and sustain it.Why keep on blowing and recreating it every now and then.
I liked batman begins is was not a bad film it was good just not amazing. I prefer batman forever over begins for sure. Like what I have said Nolans films cannot offer you that escapisim feeling that schummacers and burtons films did. If you wan't to be narrow minded and lack imagination than keep worshiping the Dark Knight and Batman Begins for their realism.
Yes okay at heart I am a kid and I love batman forever because I watched it growing an it reminds of the 90's and when everyone was into the film. Batman and Robin on the other hand I am not very fond of at all and it never appealed to me. Batman Foreve ris really a very good film maybe not so much in the 'plot' but it does offer the viewer a chance to go into thier own surreal like world when watching the film something which Nolans batman films cannot offer the viewer.
What I am trying to say is that if you wan't to escape into your own world then batman forever is for you. If you wan't a film that is mainly plot based than the Dark Knight is for you. I am not the only guy out there who watches movies to escape into my own fantansy world when I feel like doing so. I like films with good plot lines and that thriller aspect but not where batman is concerned.

A) Good for you, i hope your first film BOMBS at the cinema!
B) And all you light-hearted p**fs obsess over the gayness of Joel Schumacher's Bat-films, SNAP!
C) Spelled "bazooka" wrong, you dyslexic troll
D) Where are your glasses, you silly little mole?
E) We know that Batman Forever is you favourite movie, STOP BLOODY REPEATING YOURSELF!
F) Nothing wrong with that, stop acting like you know everything, when you don't even have a bloody clue!
